This was another Big Game Weekend beer. The night before The Game, a bunch of guys got together to watch UFC and one of them brought a case of this. Given my recent wheat beer kick, I just had to try this. The Belgians must do their beer a little different than the Germans, as this doesn’t have the same unfiltered goodness that I was looking forward to in the Franziskaner I’d picked up earlier. Then again, this is brewed by Coors, so I guess I shouldn’t have expected a real European experience.
On the whole this is a very tasty beer. It’s easy to drink, has a sweet finish, and would probably go with most lighter-tasting foods. Some of the reviews I’ve caught online recommend a slice of orange or lemon with this, but I drank it straight up and enjoyed it. It’s not one to stop the presses, but it’s definitely worth drinking, and it certainly beats most of the other beers by its parent brewery. Just don’t expect it to rival a Franziskaner or anything.
