Portland’s Great Lost Bear (the #6 Best Beer Bar in the country, according to Forbes magazine) is hosting their annual International Stout Bout tonight (March 13) from 5:00 - 9:00 PM. This year, seven-time defending champion Guinness will represent Ireland, along with Murphy’s Stout. The New England-brewed entries are Gritty McDuff’s Black Fly Stout, McGovern’s Oatmeal Stout, Bare Knuckle Stout from New Hampshire (the Merrimack, NH A-B brewery), and Allagash’s new Black, which is available on cask. All stouts will be available at the Black Thursday price of $2.50. Black on cask, eh? Sounds like a winner to me.
