Friday was a tumultous day in Portland. Power was out in the apartment, and the streets were covered with ice. We were glad when it came time to head out to Exchange Street.
All was well at Novare. For the Cancer Charity event Novare Res is pouring only six beers from Goulden Carolus (Anker Brewing) and fourteen beers from Arcadia Brewing in Michigan. Three Arcadian beers are on cask!
Tonight both Tim Suprise (Owner of Arcadia) and Bruce Wright (Sales manager for Arken) were on hand. It’s hard to imagine two stronger proponents of their products, and they both are great guys to grab for a chat.
Bottom line is this: the beers are terrific. Dare I say it, this is a historic event. OK, right, a small ‘h’, but where else will you get six Goulden Carolus on tap and 14 Arcadia beers on tap as well. Right, you’ve never heard of Arcadian, but this is your chance to say “I was at the historic tasting”…
Anyway, these beers are good. I can assure you Arcadia will be at NERAX next Spring.
Cheers!

And I was drinking Gouden Carolus Christmas at the Kulminator, Friday and Saturday nights……… – but not this year’s juvenile offering, but from Dirk’s cellar and last years beer – wow!
